本届艾美奖在提名者年龄上打破壁垒。77岁凯西·贝茨（《老练律师》）提名剧情类最佳女主，刷新该奖项年龄纪录。15岁的欧文·库伯凭借《混沌少年时》中的惊艳表现，提名限定剧/电视电影最佳男配角，成为该奖项历来最年轻的入围者。
第77届艾美奖颁奖典礼由内特·巴加泽主持，将于美国东部时间9月14日晚8点，在洛杉矶孔雀剧院通过哥伦比亚广播公司（CBS）现场直播。
