影片故事设定在美苏冷战的高峰期，聚焦一对父女的关系：作家托马斯（汉斯·齐施勒 饰）和女演员、记者兼拉力赛车手艾丽克（桑德拉·惠勒 饰）驾车开启了一趟旅行，穿越废墟中的德国，从美国控制的法兰克福到苏联控制的魏玛。
电影《1949》已正式开拍，将在波兰、德国和意大利取景拍摄。
