电影由郑执编剧并导演，于和伟、高圆圆、韩庚、张天爱、乔杉、夏之光等出演，朴松日担任摄影。影片围绕着一起悬案、两组家庭、三个春天、四十年光阴，讲述了一段关于爱与恨的故事，一场跨越三代人的报恩与复仇。
影片导演郑执的多部文学作品曾被改编成电影，并在《刺猬》《我在时间尽头等你》《被我弄丢的你》等影片中执笔剧本。电影《森中有林》是郑执的首部导演作品，值得期待。
